Games of the week

BENGALS (8-3) @ STEELERS (7-4)

TIME, TV -- 1 p.m., Ch. 9

LINE -- Steelers by 3

SKINNY -- The Steelers, on the ropes after two straight losses, can gain control of the AFC North with a win and a season sweep of the Bengals. They can't match passes with Carson Palmer, so they'll have to revive the running game. The Bengals can deliver a serious blow to the Steelers' playoff hopes with an upset.

PICK -- Steelers

COWBOYS (7-4) @ GIANTS (7-4)

TIME -- 1 p.m.

LINE -- Giants by 3

SKINNY -- The Cowboys already have played seven games decided by four points or fewer, winning four. What didn't kill them should make them stronger for the stretch run.

PICK -- Cowboys

Worth watching

FALCONS (7-4) @ PANTHERS (8-3)

TIME -- 1 p.m.

LINE -- Panthers by 3

SKINNY -- The Falcons are vulnerable against a good running game, but the Panthers don't have one. The key matchup is on the other side: the Falcons' No. 1 rushing offense vs. Carolina's No. 3 rushing defense. QB Michael Vick is 5-0 vs. Carolina.

PICK -- Falcons

TIME, TV -- 4:15 p.m., chs. 13, 9

PICK -- Chiefs

JAGUARS (8-3) @ BROWNS (4-7)

TIME -- 1 p.m.

LINE -- Jaguars by 3

SKINNY -- The Jaguars need the running game more than ever with QB Byron Leftwich out and David Garrard in. Run defense happens to be the Browns' biggest weakness.

PICK -- Jaguars

RAIDERS (4-7) @ CHARGERS (7-4)

TIME, TV -- 8:30 p.m., ESPN

LINE -- Chargers by 11 1/2
