Last game -- Bowie lost to N.C. Central, 26-23, in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship game; Tuskegee beat Alabama State, 28-27 in OT, in Turkey Day Classic.

Outlook -- Bowie State is making its second postseason appearance, following a 34-17 loss to Portland State in the first round of the 1988 NCAA Division II playoffs. The Bulldogs will feature the running of sophomore Isaac Redman, the top rusher in the CIAA with 1,305 yards. The Golden Tigers have been led all season by junior QB Kevin Huff, the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. Huff passed for 2,511 yards and 13 TDs and rushed for 741 yards and 13 TDs. This game is the seventh between representatives of the CIAA and the SIAC since 1997.
