Senior goalie Michelle McConnell had one of the most impressive weeks of the soccer season when she helped North Harford win shootout victories over Fallston and Severna Park in the regional playoffs. In the quarterfinals, McConnell made 13 saves and shut out Fallston for 100 minutes before stopping two penalty kicks in the shootout, including the first in sudden death. She had 11 saves in a 1-1 tie against then-No. 2 and unbeaten Severna Park and blocked two penalty kicks in the semifinal shootout.

A veteran of the Upper Chesapeake Nightmare club team, McConnell set a school single-season record for shutouts with 11. The Hawks finished 13-4-1, falling to River Hill, 2-1, in the regional final, as McConnell made nine saves. She also had nine saves in a regular-season, 2-1 victory over eventual Class 4A state champion C. Milton Wright.

McConnell finished with a goals-against average of .84 and a save percentage of .931. She carries a 3.5 grade point average and plans to play at Harford Community College next season.
