Dan Engelstad hit two free throws with 23 seconds remaining to give visiting St. Mary's a 72-70 victory over Villa Julie last night in a nonconference game.

The Mustangs (3-1) missed a layup in the closing seconds, and the game ended with both teams scrambling for the ball.

In the first half, the Seahawks (3-1) led offensively, shooting 53.6 percent from the field and 7-for-8 from the free-throw line, giving them a 43-33 lead.

Salisbury 66, Virginia Wesleyan 62 -- Ray Williams scored 15 in the second half to lead the host Sea Gulls (3-2) to the upset over the Marlins (2-2), who came into the game ranked 11th in the Division III poll.
