MIRIAM P. GLICK RUBIN, 95, of Ocean Pines, MD, died Saturday at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, MD. Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry and the late Lena Hackerman Potts, the youngest of eight brothers and sisters. Miriam was a very accomplished lady, she attended Eastern High School in Baltimore and graduated from Goucher College with a BA in English Literature in 1931. She was a fantastic businesswoman; if she was involved, the business was successful. She successfully operated Glick & Sons in Onancock, VA. for 25 years with husband Saul and for 18 more years after he died. The synagogue and Jewish faith were always very important to Miriam. Extremely philanthropic, she supported three synagogues most of her life. " NO" was not in her vocabulary when it came to working for or giving to charities. Miriam was a valued member of Temple Bat Yam. She was also an active member of the Sisterhood at Temple Bat Yam and of the Red Hat Society. She is survived by; Hal Glick and Christine Ward of Bishopville, MD; Ellen Papetti of Onancock, VA. and Donald Rubin and his wife Jodi of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Geoff Glick and Karen Merrill of Greenville, SC; Jennifer and Danny Anglin of Norfolk, VA; Lauren and Chris Shanahan of Ocean City, MD; Shawn Glick of New York; great-grandchildren; Zachary Ettz, Madeline Shanahan, Hannah Anglin and Isabel Anglin and a niece; Helen Davidson. Miriam was predeceased by her first husband, Saul Glick, and her second husband, Victor Rubin, and a son, Michael Glick. Miriam spent her last 3 years with her extended family and friends at Catered Living of Ocean Pines where she found happiness and contentment. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 10 AM at Temple Bat Yam, Berlin, MD and a graveside service and burial at Beth Tfiloh Jewish Cemetery in Baltimore, MD at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to Temple Bat Yam, 11036 Worcester Highway, Berlin, MD 21811.
