Enoch Pratt

Former magazine editor to speak

George E. Curry, the editor of the National Newspaper Publishers Association News Service and BlackPressUSA.com, will be speaking at the Enoch Pratt Free Library's central facility in downtown Baltimore at 7 p.m. today. Curry, who was editor of Emerge magazine from 1993 to 2000, will be signing copies of his new book, The Best of Emerge Magazine. He writes a weekly syndicated column that appears in more than 200 African-American newspapers and is also on a weekly radio show on 300 stations. He also was a New York bureau chief and Washington correspondent for the Chicago Tribune. The speech will be held in the Poe Room at the library at 400 Cathedral St.
