Games of the week

GIANTS (7-3) @ SEAHAWKS (8-2)

TIME, TV -- 4:15 p.m., Ch. 5

LINE -- Seahawks by 4 1/2

SKINNY -- The Giants caught a break when Dallas lost Thursday. If they can win in Seattle, they'll take a one-game lead in the NFC East. But the task will be more difficult if DE Michael Strahan can't play against the rampaging Seattle offense.

PICK -- Seahawks

BEARS (7-3) @ BUCCANEERS (7-3)

TIME, TV -- 1 p.m., Ch. 45

LINE -- Buccaneers by 3

SKINNY -- The Bears' defense has given up more than 300 total yards just once this season - in Week 1 vs. the Redskins. The Buccaneers won their past two games at the gun. This could go either way.

PICK -- Bears

Worth seeing

PATRIOTS(6-4) @ CHIEFS (6-4)

TIME -- 1 p.m.

LINE -- Chiefs by 3

SKINNY -- The return of DE Richard Seymour two weeks ago from knee injury put teeth back in the Patriots' defense. They are primed for another January run and this is their last tough road test.

PICK -- Chiefs

TIME -- 1 p.m.

LINE -- Vikings by 4

SKINNY -- Trent Dilfer is looking over his shoulder again, this time at Browns rookie QB Charlie Frye. The Browns are just 1-4 on the road, losing in Baltimore and Houston. The Vikings have new playoff hope.

PICK -- Vikings

PANTHERS (7-3) @ BILLS (4-6)

TIME -- 1 p.m.

LINE -- Panthers by 3 1/2

PICK -- Panthers

JAGUARS (7-3) @ CARDINALS (3-7)

TIME -- 4:05 p.m.

LINE -- Jaguars by 3

SKINNY -- Kurt Warner has revived Arizona's passing game (No. 3 in the NFL) since returning three weeks ago, but the Cardinals' defense has dropped off. The Jaguars are No. 1 in pass defense.

PICK -- Jaguars

DOLPHINS (3-7) @ RAIDERS (4-6)

TIME -- 4:05 p.m.

Easy to miss

49ERS (2-8) @ TITANS (2-8)
