The Arc fills new position

Susan Spenadel has been named by the Arc of Howard County to a newly created position, director of day support.

She will oversee the Arc's day services and supported retirement program for people with developmental disabilities. Spenadel previously served as director of training, research and quality assurance at Harbor City Unlimited, a division of the University of Maryland Medical System, where she worked with people with severe and profound disabilities.

The Arc of Howard County provides housing, job placement, vocational training and other support services to people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Mahoney joins Columbia law group

Tora A. Mahoney has joined the Business Technology Law Group in Columbia. She was an attorney with Hudson Global Resources in Washington.

Mahoney has a law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law with a concentration in estate planning. She has a master's degree from Mount St. Mary's College in Emmitsburg, and a bachelor's degree from Hood College in Frederick.

Manekin hires Craig Laferty

Craig W. Laferty Jr. has joined Manekin LLC as a sales and leasing associate in its brokerage division.

Working from the firm's downtown Baltimore office, he represents tenants and landlords in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.

Manekin LLC is a full-service commercial real estate firm based in Columbia.
