`Carroll Magazine' celebrates first year

Carroll Magazine, a bimonthly publication covering Carroll County's region and lifestyle, celebrates its first anniversary Thursday.

Published by Kohn Creative, a graphic-design and printing firm, the periodical was introduced last year as a controlled-circulation magazine slated for distribution to 18,500 homes and businesses in the county.

In April, the magazine expanded its circulation to include subscriptions, growing to 50,000 readers. Newsstand sales are being planned.

The current issue features articles on successful party-giving; ideas for Christmas holiday activities; a winter getaway at the beach; Carroll County tea rooms; Sykesville artist John Kachik; and 2005's distinguished Carroll Countians.
