Roch around the clock

I assume everyone's digested their Thanksgiving meal, and the time spent with family was everything you hoped for - meaning there were no casualties. I missed my daughter, Addison, 12, who spent the holiday in Las Vegas with her mother and grandparents. I asked her if she had fun, and she told me, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." Doesn't sound good.

By the way, former Monday Night Football sideline reporter Lisa Guerrero will be featured in the next issue of Playboy magazine. Guerrero is the wife of former Orioles pitcher Scott Erickson, who never warmed up to me during our time together. I didn't take it personally, since he pretty much despised the media and carved a reputation for being extremely difficult, going all the way back to his days in Minnesota. The beat writers there actually threw a party the day he was traded to the Orioles.

I often think back to our warm exchanges in the clubhouse, the memories still bringing tears to my eyes.

Me: "Hey, Scotty, got a minute?"

Scotty: "Not for you."
