Western

Armed robbery -- An 18-year-old man was walking in the 2400 block of Liberty Heights Ave. yesterday when another man began walking alongside him. The suspect pulled out a black handgun and stole the 18-year-old's coat, boots, Sprint cellphone and portable DVD player. The suspect fled on foot.

Baltimore County

Essex

Armed robbery -- Two men, one armed with a silver revolver, robbed a convenience store Thursday afternoon in the 1500 block of Martin Blvd. The men, between the ages of 18 and 25, wore hooded sweat shirts and went behind the counter to get to the cash register. After collecting $2,310 and a carton of cigarettes, they ordered the customers to the back of the store. The robbers fled on foot.

Northpoint

Attempted murder/arrest -- During a verbal altercation Wednesday afteroon in the 1800 block of Marshall Road, a 79-year-old man pointed a handgun at a 47-year-old woman acquaintence, and a struggle ensued. The gun subsequently fired. No one was injured. Nicholas Lukanich was arrested and charged with attempted murder. He is being held on $250,000 bail.
