Seriously, we have a Sidney Ponson sighting, folks. And no, it wasn't underneath a bar stool. Ponson is living in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and I'm told he's training every day at 8 a.m. A "source" told me he drank water all night at a local establishment, accompanied by another former Orioles pitcher, Rick Bauer, and that he's lost a considerable amount of weight. He's also tanned and sporting a full head of black hair.

"I was pretty impressed by his transformation," a friend told me.

Ponson apparently was excited by the prospect of signing a one-year deal with another team. I hear the name of the stadium that he'd pitch in would be "ironic," given his DUI arrests. Let's see, there's Colorado, St. Louis, Milwaukee . . .
