Grace Concannon, Oakland Mills



STATS -- In just her second season of running cross country, the senior broke through as the top runner for the Scorpions, finishing eighth in the county championships. A standout lacrosse player who also has experience in indoor track, Concannon combined her natural competitiveness with improved endurance and course management to enjoy the breakthrough season. At a quad-meet in October, she finished with the second fastest time ever by an Oakland Mills female runner on the team's home course, which has been intact for 25 years.

SIDELINES -- Concannon loves to compete and try new things. Growing up, she participated in soccer, ballet, ice skating and gymnastics among other interests. In her freshman year, she turned to lacrosse and she said it's her favorite sport. Maintaining a 3.5 weighted grade point average, Concannon would like to attend Gettysburg College with plans of playing lacrosse.
