STATS -- The senior goalie allowed nine goals and recorded 10 shutouts in 16 games for the Generals, who tied River Hill, 1-1, for their second Class 3A state co-championship in three years. The berth in the state title game was the Generals' third in the past four years. In the regional tournament, Gisriel shut out three teams, including Baltimore County champion Patapsco. In the state semifinals, Gisriel blanked Westlake of Charles County, 3-0.

SIDELINES -- Gisriel, a Calvert Hall transfer, is a first-year varsity starter, but was chosen to the Baltimore County coaches' All-County team. Although he enjoys playing goalie in soccer, Gisriel played every position but goalie in ice hockey for a club team last winter. Gisriel also plays first base on the Generals' baseball team. A car enthusiast, Gisriel, 18, enjoys driving his father's 1950 Willys, "the predecessor of the Jeep," he said.
