Classes were canceled yesterday at Deer Park Middle Magnet School in Randallstown after an early-morning break-in left windows damaged and classroom computers and electronic equipment missing, police and school officials said.

Baltimore County police are investigating the burglary, which was reported at 3:09 a.m. yesterday by the school's custodian, said a police spokesman, Cpl. Michael Hill. He said it was unclear whether the custodian was at the school, in the 9800 block of Winands Road, during the break-in or discovered the damage upon arrival.

Many classroom doors and windows were destroyed, Hill said. Police do not have any estimates on the value of the building damage or the equipment theft.

A county schools spokesman said Deer Park was expected to reopen today.

Police have no suspects and know of no motive for the crime. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 866-7-LOCKUP.
