Gunman robs 3 people at hotel

A man robbed three people at gunpoint at an Elkridge hotel early yesterday. Two men and one woman staying at a Comfort Inn were robbed of $760, three cell phones, car keys and a purse, Howard County police said. The man knocked on their door and, after they opened it, pointed a handgun at the victims and forced his way into the room, according to police. After the robbery, he fled on foot.

Baltimore County: Dundalk

Toddler suffers minor burns in fire

A toddler suffered minor burns in a duplex fire yesterday in Dundalk, Baltimore County fire officials said. Four engines, one truck and two medic units were called to the fire at a 2 1/2 -story duplex in the 1800 block of East Ave. at 9:14 a.m. The child did not require hospital treatment.

Baltimore: Barclay School

Educator to hold book signing today

Gertrude Williams, who served as principal and assistant principal at the Baltimore school system's Barclay School for nearly 40 years, will hold a reception and book signing with Jo Ann Robinson today. Together, Williams and Robinson have published Education as My Agenda: Gertrude Williams, Race and the Baltimore Public Schools. The event will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the school library, 2900 Barclay St.
