Carroll chamber announces meetings

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce has announced its monthly meetings.

They include:

The Connections After Hours networking opportunity and business card exchange will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 6 at the chamber offices, 700 Corporate Center Court, Suite L, Westminster. This is an informal gathering of members to network and exchange business cards. Reservations are required by Nov. 29.

A power networking lunch will be held at noon Dec. 8 at Boulevard & Beyond, 1011 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster. Representatives from the Hampstead Business Association, Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce, South Carroll Business Association, and Taneytown Chamber of Commerce will attend for networking and meeting other businesses. The cost is $18. Reservations are due by Dec. 1.

Business center to offer workshops

The Carroll County Business & Employment Resource Center offers a variety of workshops and programs to help individuals who are seeking a job or looking for a new career.

Monthly programs include: career aptitude and interest inventory, applying for federal jobs, writing resumes and cover letters, effective networking, computer and Internet basics, starting a business, interviewing skills, job references and completing applications.

Additional resources and services include career counseling, job listings, computerized assessments, online job search, resource library and computer laboratories. Registration is required for programs. For a detailed schedule of workshops, visit BERC at 224 N. Center St., Westminster.
