What -- NCAA Division III first-round playoff game

Last week -- Hopkins beat McDaniel, 14-5; Thiel beat Carnegie-Mellon, 50-48, 3 OT.

Outlook -- Hopkins and Thiel are making their first appearances in the NCAA football playoffs. Hopkins will rely on its 13th-ranked defense, the running of T.J. Lyons and pass-catching of Anthony Triplin, the Centennial Conference's Offensive Player of the Year. Thiel, in its finest season, is led by senior QB Darrell Satterfield, who has thrown for 2,344 yards and 22 TDs.

Franklin & Marshall (5-5) @ Salisbury (7-3)

What -- ECAC Southeast Bowl

Time -- Noon

Series -- First meeting

Last week -- Salisbury beat Frostburg, 30-24; F&M beat Gettysburg, 13-7.

Outlook -- Salisbury, which lost two of its past three games, gets to see how it stacks up against the Diplomats from the Centennial Conference.

Moravian (6-4) @ Frostburg State (6-4)

What -- ECAC Southwest Bowl

Series -- First meeting

Last week -- Frostburg lost to Salisbury, 30-24; Moravian beat Muhlenberg, 24-19.

Outlook -- Frostburg, which has won four of its past five, plays in its second ECAC title game in the past four years.

Towson (6-4) @ James Madison (6-4)

Time -- 1:30 p.m.

Radio -- 89.7 FM

Series -- James Madison leads 11-5-1

Last week -- Towson lost to Richmond, 48-21; JMU beat Villanova, 28-13.

Outlook -- While this has been a turnaround season for Towson, it has been a major letdown for the defending Division I-AA national champion.
