Awaiting the first marquee signings that will establish the free-agent market, the Orioles remain in talks with several agents, including the representatives of All-Star closer B.J. Ryan and San Diego Padres catcher Ramon Hernandez, though the club has yet to make any concrete offers.

"We've talked boundaries of offers, but as far as getting into the nitty-gritty, we haven't," said Orioles executive vice president Mike Flanagan. "It's just getting the parameters right now. We're still talking to a number of agents. There are a lot of discussions about length of contracts and how long they're looking for right now."
