Coach: Frank Haith, second season at school (16-13), second overall (16-13)

2004-05 record: 16-13, 7-9 (tied for sixth in ACC; NIT first round)

Returning starters: Junior G Anthony Harris, junior F-C Anthony King, junior G Guillermo Diaz, senior G Robert Hite, junior G Anthony Harris

Sun prediction: NIT

Why it will happen: The Hurricanes have several unproven post players, and with the exception of King, only Raymond Hicks and Gary Hamilton have played in college games. Miami's depth also remains questionable, as the first four players off the bench might be freshmen. A nonconference schedule that includes Florida and Louisville will also be a challenge.

Why it might not: Miami returns the core of last season's roster - including four starters - and could be capable of surprising some people. King, who recorded the program's first triple double last season, finished second in the ACC with 86 blocked shots and was fifth in rebounding with 8.0 a game. Miami also returns its leading scorer, Diaz, who averaged 18.6 points last season.
