Numbers-- U.S. workers applied for 326,000 new applications for jobless benefits last week, an increase of 2,000 from the previous week.

Tip of the Week - Achieving balance in work and life

Think about your definition of balance between work and life when seeking a job. Your ability to strike that balance can vary by industry, career function and the culture of an organization. You'll be happiest where the leadership and your direct supervisor have views of the work-life balance similar to yours. To find your fit, you can dig for information on the Web, network with others in your industry or profession, and try to gain a sense of a potential employer's view from your interviewers. Don't forget to take commuting time into account.
