ENTAA Care, located in Anne Arundel County, announced that Dr. Avron Marcus has joined its otolaryngology practice. The Emory University medical graduate specializes in hearing and balance disorders.

Harbor Hospital appointed Dr. Matthew Facktor as director of thoracic surgery at the South Baltimore medical center. He is a medical graduate of Wayne State University.

Maryland Urology Associates named Dr. Stefan H. Gutow and Dr. Jonathan N. Rubenstein to the staff of the Baltimore and Harford county-area health care provider. Gutow will see patients at Franklin Square and Upper Chesapeake hospitals and Rubenstein will see patients at Good Samaritan, Greater Baltimore and St. Joseph hospitals.

XLHealth announced three new directors, Laurie R. Russell, senior health solutions; Eileen Giardina, quality improvement; and Martha M. Fountain, health services, for the Baltimore-based disease management company.

Real Estate

Manekin LLC appointed Craig W. Laferty Jr. as a sales and leasing associate in the Baltimore office of the commercial realty management firm. He will work with tenants and landlords in Baltimore city and county. A University of Maryland graduate, the Towson resident is a member of the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage appointed Jay Marotte as branch vice president of the firm's Canton office.

Professional Services

Warner Construction Consultants promoted Paul C. Brough to vice president of the Rockville-based firm. A member of the company since 1992, he holds a master's degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Congruent Media, a Baltimore-based Internet solutions company, named Ryan Katz as director of client services, Julian Abiodun as application developer and Daehong Kim as a Web designer.

PCA Group appointed Matthew Craig Duvall as supervisor of staff accountants for the Columbia-based provider of business, accounting, financial and acquisition services to individuals, companies, trade associations and nonprofit organizations.

Awards

The Bar Association of Baltimore City announced that it has chosen Ober/Kaler attorney Pamela J. White to receive its Charles H. Dorsey Jr. Mentor Award.

Weber Shandwick announced that William Atkinson, formerly with The Sun, joined the international public relations firm's Baltimore office as a vice president. He counsels clients on crisis communication, media, financial and investor relations.

Weinberg Harris & Associates named Paige Kimos an account executive and Kristi Betz a junior account executive for the Baltimore-based marketing and public relations agency.

Banking and Finance

Provident Bank promoted Leslie K. Bosley to vice president and project manager in the regional bank's commercial banking division at its Baltimore headquarters.

Defense

Northrop Grumman Corp. promoted John C. Johnson and Joseph J. Ensor to vice presidents in the defense contractor's electronic systems sector.

Legal and Insurance

New York Life Insurance Co. named Edward J. Nemec as managing partner of its Baltimore general office. He supervises about 70 agents and a support staff.

Shapiro, Sher, Guinot & Sandler named Cynthia L. Stewart as a real estate partner and Matthew A.S. Esworthy as an associate in the Baltimore law firm's litigation department.

On the Board

The Casey Cares Foundation named Dorothy Fuchs to the board of directors of the locally-based children's charity.
