2 -- Six-foot-9 forwards from Baltimore-area private schools who say they are headed to Big East schools. Towson Catholic junior Dante Green has orally committed to Syracuse, and McDonogh's DaJuan Summers will sign today with Georgetown.

4 -- Touchdowns that Dundalk senior quarterback Dale Piercy was a part of in the Owls' 30-13 rout of Kenwood in a Baltimore County 4A-3A League game Oct. 29. Down 13-0, Piercy scored touchdowns on runs of 1 and 4 yards to tie the game, then passed for scores of 9 and 25 yards to seniors Jason Higgins and JaJuan Bradford as the Owls ended a four-game losing streak.

16 -- State tournament appearances by Hereford's field hockey team. Only Severna Park (23) Bethesda-Chevy Chase (19), Pocomoke (19), Westminster (17) and Elkton (17) have competed more times during the tournament's 31 years.

46 -- Carries by Sparrows Point's Mike McCoy, believed to be a school record, en route to rushing for 217 yards and the game-winning 9-yard touchdown in a 12-6 win over Chesapeake.
