KATHERINE PATRICIA GARY was a registered critical care nurse and mid-wife who died on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. The Ruxton resident was 67. Born in Crosshaven, County Cork, Ireland, the daughter of Molly and Patrick Thomas Meade. After earning her R.N. and midwifery credentials with honors, she moved to the U.S. in 1969 and served two years in New Rochelle Medical Center in New York as an R.N. obtaining additional training she moved to Baltimore and was a critical care nurse at the VA hospital in Loch Raven in 1972. She married Nader G. Gary, M.D., in 1971 and had two daughters: Maryam Taraneh Gary and Katherine Janette Gary. She made numerous contributions to various charity organizations and served as an advisor and treasurer for Missing and Exploited Children of America (Maryland sector) for years. She was a humanitarian, avid reader and creative writer who served in the 1980's as a CCD teacher at The Nativity Church in Timonium, MD. She enjoyed life wholeheartedly. Open minded, witty, friendly, lovely and beautiful are words that only begin to tell the story of Katherine Patricia Gary. In additional to her husband, she is survived by daughters Maryam Taraneh Nourbakhsh and Katherine J. Gary-Foley, grandson, Ryan, son-in-law Dr. Ali Nourbakhsh and Michael C. Foly, brother, Declan Meade and sisters, Peggy Collins and Vallie O'Sullivan. Friends may call at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Road (Beltway exit 26A) on Wednesday, November 9 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M.
