E-mails received yesterday by commuters on the MARC Penn Line between Baltimore and Washington:

5:56 a.m.: Penn Line Train No. 400 leaving Union Station at 5:54 a.m. has been cancelled. Train 402 leaving Union Station at 6:45 a.m. will make all stops. Southbound Train 401 normally leaving Penn Station at 4:45 a.m. has been terminated north of BWI Station because of locomotive mechanical problems. Southbound Train 503 (4:50 a.m out of Perryville) will pick up all passengers, but is expected to be 15 minutes late arriving at BWI Station.

6:14 a.m.: Southbound Train No. 411 leaving Penn Station at 7:00 has been cancelled. Train 513 leaving Perryville at 6:30 a.m will make all stops.

7:02 a.m.: Train #503 is currently operating 40 minutes late; Train #405 is running 30 minutes late. Expect Northbound Train #402 to be 20-25 minutes late.

7:22 a.m.: Southbound Train #407 will stop at Bowie and Seabrook to pick up passengers left by crowded Train #405, which is presently running 30 minutes late; Train #407 is now 20 minutes behind. Northbound Train #402 is operating 35 minutes late.

7:44 a.m.: Northbound Train 410, scheduled to arrive Baltimore at 9:12 AM, is canceled due to no crew; Train #412 will make all stops. Train #402 is operating 40 minutes late. Expect Train #415, scheduled to arrive DC at 8:36 AM, to be at least 25-30 minutes late.

8:09 a.m.: Train #415 is now canceled; Train #513 to DC is operating 20 minutes late. Northbound Train #402 is operating 52 minutes late; Train #506 is 30 minutes late; Train #406 is approximately 35-40 minutes late; and Train #408 is presently 25 minutes late. Amtrak Train #151 will stop at New Carrollton.
