On Tuesday, Annapolis voters will go to the polls to elect a mayor and eight-member Board of Aldermen. Here are snapshots of the candidates:

MAYOR Ellen O. Moyer (D)

Political/civic experience: Mayor since 2001; alderman representing Eastport, 14 years; served on State Board of Education and Maryland State Racing Commission

WARD 5 James R. Turner (D)

Age: 67

Professional experience: Executive director, Opportunities Industrialization Center of Anne Arundel County Inc.; retired, director of Defense Printing Service for the National Capital Area and senior manager with the Department of Defense. Also previously served as Air Force Reserves sergeant.

Education: Associate degree, Anne Arundel Community College; attended Kennedy-Western University; completed three-year Department of Navy Printing Management Intern Program

Political/civic experience: Member, Anne Arundel Workforce Investment Board and Annapolis Annexation Review Committee. Past activities include Annapolis Planning and Zoning Commission and Human Relations Commission, as well as commander of American Legion post.
