Breast-feeding group -- A breast-feeding group will meet from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Family Birthplace, Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Registration is not required. 800-515-0044.

Prepared childbirth -- Upper Chesapeake Medical Center will offer a six-week prepared childbirth program from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow through Dec. 19. The cost is $50 for couples delivering at the Upper Chesapeake Family Birthplace and $80 for those delivering elsewhere. 800-515-0044.

Childbirth refresher -- Upper Chesapeake Medical Center's Family Birthplace will offer a refresher class for expectant parents who wish to brush up on the signs, symptoms and techniques of labor and delivery from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. 800-515-0044.

Assistance

Screenings

Blood pressure -- Screenings will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon tomorrow at Edgewood Senior Center and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Klein's Supermarket on Main Street in Bel Air.

Varicose veins -- Upper Chesapeake Cardiovascular Institute and Vascular Surgery Associates will offer free varicose vein screenings from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Upper Chesapeake Surgical Pavilion at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Registration is required. 800-515-0044.

Vision -- Screenings for glaucoma, cataracts and diabetic retinopathy will be offered from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 16 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center. Registration is required. Susan Taylor, 800-248-1980.

Colorectal cancer -- The Harford County Health Department will provide residents who meet program guidelines with free colonoscopies. 443-643-0350.

Breast and cervical cancer -- The Harford County Health Department provides free mammograms and gynecological screenings for women ages 40 to 64 who meet income requirements and are uninsured or underinsured. 443-643-0350.

Discounted screenings -- HealthLink Community Wellness Center, a service of Upper Chesapeake Health, offers cholesterol screenings for $10, osteoporosis screenings for $15 and a full cardiac risk assessment for $20 (cash only).
