On Monday, October 31, 2005, CHARLES THOMAS "Duke" POTTER, 78, of Princess Anne, formerly of Baltimore, died at Manokin Manor Nursing Home in Princess Anne. Born in Auburn, Rhode Island on January 21, 1927, he was a son of the late Frederick C. Potter and Blandine J. Plante Potter. Mr. Potter had formerly worked as a truck driver. He was a WWII Navy veteran who served in the Pacific with military honors. He was also a member of the Western Pennsylvania Teamsters & Employers Union of Pittsburgh and the Freight Drivers & Helpers Local 557 in Baltimore. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Willing Potter of Princess Anne; a brother, Raymond Potter of Warwick, Rhode Island; a sister, Eleanor D. Arezzo of Warwick, RI and several nieces and nephews. Late brothers were Earl Potter, George Potter and Frederick Potter. A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 P.M. at Rock Creek United Methodist Church in Chance. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev. Beatrice Johnson and Rev. Steve Willing will officiate. Interment will be held in Rock Creek Cemetery in Chance. Arrangements are being handled by Hinman Funeral Home.
