Man fights with police, dies

A man who fought with Baltimore police officers arresting him on a domestic violence charge died early yesterday while being treated for possible injuries at St. Agnes Hospital, and an autopsy was awaited to determine the cause of death, police said. Two Southwestern District officers were attempting to serve a warrant when they became involved in a fight with the 36-year-old man about 12:15 a.m. at his home in the 2000 block of Griffis Ave. Police said he bit the officers, and was subdued and restrained with leg irons. The name of the man - who died about 1 a.m. - was being withheld pending notification of relatives, police said.

Fatal shooting in Park Heights

Northern District officers investigated reported gunshots about 9:40 p.m. in the 2500 block of Boarman Ave., near Pimlico Road, and found the victim on the ground and bleeding from multiple wounds to the head and face. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Metro Crime Stoppers, 410-866-7LOCKUP, is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and an indictment.
