On October 20, 2005, at his home in Florida, JAMES MICHAEL RAMPE, 55, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Lima, OH. Born August 8, 1950, he was the son of Raymond and Caroline (nee Taylor) Rampe, both deceased. A graduate of Shawnee High School, Lima, OH, Ohio State University and Capital University College of Law, Columbus, Ohio, where he received his Law degree in 1978. He was a member of both the Ohio and Florida Bar Association. Mr. Rampe was a senior manager and had retired from State Farm Insurance in Baltimore, MD, and had done much pro bono legal work in Fort Lauderdale where he was very active in several civic and human rights organizations, as well as in Baltimore. Survivors include 3 brothers; Thomas (Mary) Rampe, Celina, OH, William (Lynda) Rampe, Lima, OH, Anthony (Beverly) Rampe, Wapakoneta, OH, 8 nieces and nephews, 3 great nieces and nephews, and a host of dear friends. A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Saturday, November 5, 2005 at the Church of Religious Science, Ft. Lauderdale, 1550 N.E. 26th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33305. Family suggests donations in his memory to the church, or the Humane Society of Broward County, 2070 Griffin Road, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33312. Fred Hunter's Funeral Home, Ft. Lauderdale, FL is in charge of services 954-989-1550.
