Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Arrest -- Douglas Holmes, 24, was arrested yesterday at his home in the first block of N. Mount St. on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder in the beating death March 21 of Jessie Lee Sr., 74.

Arson -- Someone entered a house in the 900 block of W. Lombard St. about 5 p.m. Wednesday, poured a flammable liquid inside a room and set it ablaze. The fire caused $600 damage, but no injuries.


Shooting -- A man shot in the chest and shoulder about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 5700 block of Nasco Place was reported in good condition at Good Samaritan Hospital. A handgun believed used in the shooting was recovered from a teenage male arrested a short time later at Hillen Road near Sherwood Avenue.

Shooting -- A young man was shot in the right leg shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of E. Cold Spring Lane. He was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital.


Victim named -- Germaine Morrison, 24, of the 1500 block of Kenhill Ave., has been identified as the man fatally stabbed in the stomach Tuesday afternoon in the 1700 block of Malvern St.

Armed robbery -- A woman, 24, was walking in the 1800 block of Gough St. about 11 p.m. Wednesday when a man pressed a handgun to her face and took her purse.

Armed robbery -- A gunman with two teardrop tattoos under his left eye robbed High's dairy store in the 6700 block of Brentwood Ave. of an undisclosed sum of money about 8 p.m. Tuesday.


Robbery/arrests -- Moments after entering his home in the 4100 block of Windmill Circle about noon on Wednesday, a 22-year-old man was robbed of $500 by two bandits, one armed with a gun. Charged with armed robbery were James A. Nichols, 23, of the 8700 block of Stephanie Road and Christopher Tyler, 23, of the 3900 block of Carthage Road.
