ELIZABETH HELFRICH CLARK, Age 96, died on October 23, 2005 of natural causes. Since 1995, Mrs. Clark lived in Annapolis at the Ginger Cove Retirement Community, before that she lived in St. Michael's, Ellicott City and Catonsville, MD. The former Sarah Elizabeth Helfrich was born in Baltimore, MD on June 24, 1909. She was educated at the Roberts Beech School, St. Timothy's School and Goucher College. In 1933 she married Garnett Y. Clark of Howard County, who died in 1993. Mrs. Clark was an avid baseball and football fan. She loved dogs and always owned either Irish Setters or Dachshunds. Her other interests were smocking, gardening, bridge and volunteering. For many years she was an auxiliary member of Eastern Memorial Hospital and the Altar Guild of Christ Church in St. Michael's. Mrs. Clark was also a Certified Braille Transcriber. Surviving are a daughter Anne C. Bass of Annapolis and a son, Garnett Y. Clark, Jr. of Westminster, six granddaughters and 13 great grandchildren. A Service will be held at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 1601 Pleasant Plains Rd., Annapolis at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, October 26, 2005. Interment immediately following at Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church an hour before the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mc Donogh School, P.O. Box 380, Owings Mills, MD 21117-0380 or Roland Park Country School, 5204 Roland Ave., Baltimore, MD 21210.is survived by five daughters, one son, one sister and other loving relatives and friends. Friends may call at the family owned MARCH FUNERAL HOME WEST, INC., 4300 Wabash Ave., on Thursday, after 8:30 A.M., where family will receive friends from 5 until 7 P.M. Family will also receive friends at the above establishment on Friday, at 11:30 A.M., followed by funeral service at 12 noon. See www.marchfh.com
