A man awaiting trial on multiple felony charges, including murder and attempted murder, escaped yesterday evening from Mercy Medical Center in downtown Baltimore, where he had been taken for examination of an unknown health problem, authorities said. About 5 p.m., Corey Antwon McMillon, 28, of the 2000 block of Ruxton Ave., was using a bathroom at the hospital in the 300 block of St. Paul Place when he fled after assaulting a corrections officer, said Barbara Cooper, spokeswoman for the state's Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. Described by police as extremely dangerous, McMillon was being held in the fatal shooting of Jamel St. Clair, 18, in the 2000 block of E. North Ave. on April 1.
