City police investigate 2 killings

Police were investigating yesterday two separate homicides in the city. An unidentified man was fatally stabbed about 1:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of Malvern St. in Southeast Baltimore about a quarter-mile from the Baltimore County line. The man was taken by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he died a short time later. Details were not available.

City police officers also responded early yesterday to a call about a shooting and found a man wounded from several gunshots lying in an alley behind rowhouses in the 1800 block of Guilford Ave., a department spokesman said. Dominic N. King, 20, of the 2900 block of Kirk Ave., was pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Hospital at 2:31 a.m., about a half-hour after he was found, police said.

Detectives recovered five shell casings from the scene and reported no known suspect or motive.
