1 -- First-year varsity football team in Baltimore City - Samuel L. Banks. At 2-5, the team has a remote shot at qualifying for the Class 1A South regional playoffs. If that happens, it's believed Samuel Banks would be the first state team to make the playoffs in its initial season.

3 -- Touchdowns in as many different ways scored by Douglass' Antione Smithson in last week's rout of Samuel L. Banks, throwing a 48-yard scoring pass, making a 54-yard touchdown reception and returning a fumble recovery 64 yards. He was 2-for-2 passing for 100 yards and had four tackles and a pass deflection.

7 -- Victories each for Carver's varsity and junior varsity teams against no losses. It is believed to be the first time in school history that both Carver squads have started 7-0, according to athletic director Greg Warren.

99 -- Combined yards of two touchdown runs by Dunbar freshman Tavon Austin in Thursday's 12-0 shutout of Baltimore City Division I rival Poly. He had a 51-yarder in the second quarter and a 48-yarder in the third.
