Bass Pro Shops MBNA 500

Site -- Hampton, Ga.

When, TV -- Sunday, noon, Ch. 11

Track -- Atlanta Motor Speedway (1.54-mile quad-oval)

Distance -- 325 laps, 500.5 miles

Last year -- Mark Martin led 227 of 325 laps, but a caution flag late in the race allowed Jimmie Johnson to take the lead and hold off Martin by about five car lengths for his third consecutive Nextel Cup victory. Besides Johnson and Martin, the only other drivers in this year's Chase for the Nextel Cup to finish in the top 10 were Carl Edwards (third), Tony Stewart (ninth) and Greg Biffle (10th).

Drivers to watch -- Edwards, who won the March race at the track by .028 of a second over Johnson, is in only his second season in the series. In his only other Nextel Cup race in Atlanta, he finished third. With four races remaining, Martin is seventh in the points standings, 170 behind Stewart. Martin will need help if he hopes to get back into contention after a 34th-place finish yesterday. Jamie McMurray, who is out of the Chase, moved up three places yesterday to 11th in the standings - the same position he was in at the end of 2004.

Quotable -- "It's kind of good news, bad news. The bad news is we've had two bad finishes in the Chase. The good news is we ran good in all five races so far." - Matt Kenseth, who is ninth in the standings, before finishing 12th at Martinsville yesterday.
