CULTURAL TOWN MEETING -- "Why Invest in Culture?" will be the topic at the fourth annual Cultural Town Meeting from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Baltimore Museum of Art, 10 Art Museum Drive. VETERANS ISSUES -- A town hall meeting to discuss issues affecting military veterans will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 301 N. High St., Baltimore. The session is sponsored by Rep. Elijah E. Cummings. Admission is free.

TOMORROW

CHESS CLASSIC -- The Adalius Thomas Charity Chess Classic will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Mary of Assumption School, 5520 York Road. The event will pit the Huber Memorial Church Knights of Valor, a youth team, against Ravens players, broadcast personalities, and business and political leaders. 410-435-1496.

WEDNESDAY

FEMALE WRESTLER SPEAKS -- Ida May Selenkow will give a talk titled "Lady Wrestler and Yodeler" at 1 p.m. at the Friends Cafe of the Pikesville library, 1301 Reisterstown Road. Selenkow, a wrestling star in the 1950s and an accomplished yodeler, was featured in the documentary film Lipstick and Dynamite. Admission is free. 410-887-1234.

THURSDAY

MILITARY JOB FAIR -- A job fair for those on active military duty, reservists and members of the National Guard will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Marine Corps Reserve Center, 7000 Hamlet Ave., Baltimore. The 4th Combat Engineer Battalion Job Fair is sponsored by the state Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. There are no fees for job seekers. 410-674-5240.

MENTAL HEALTH FAIR -- The annual Baltimore County Mental Health Fair and Town Hall Meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Parkville American League Post, 2301 Putty Hill Ave. Representatives from agencies will be available to answer questions. Admission is free. 410-235-1178.

FRIDAY

CHINESE ACROBATS -- Maryland Hall for the Performing Arts will present the Shangri-La Chinese Acrobats at 8 p.m. at 801 Chase St., Annapolis. Tickets are $28 for adults and $18 for children. 410-263-5544.

TUG OF WAR -- Teams from Eastport and Annapolis will hold their annual "Slaughter Across the Water" tug of war at 10:30 a.m. at the Annapolis Harbor. Events take place on the Annapolis side at the Susan C. Campbell Park at the City Dock, and on the Eastport side at Second Street, next to the Chart House.
