MRS. BERNICE COSTON REI, 90, of Columbia, MD, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 17, 2005 at the Ellicott City Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ellicott City, MD. Mrs. Rei was born February 16, 1915 in Candler County. She graduated Valedictorian of her senior class at Pulaski High School. She became an RN after graduating from Grady Nursing School in Atlanta. She worked as a nurse at hospitals in Metter, Savannah, Lexington, KY and Baltimore, MD. She retired from nursing in 1973 shortly after the death of her husband. She was a long time member of Arlington Baptist Church, Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Eldon Rei; her parents, Thomas E. Watson Coston and Alice E. Leverett Coston Brantley; stepfather, Troy E. Brantley; a sister, Eunice Coston Rushing and a brother, Harold N. Brantley. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law; Joseph Thomas Rei (Dianna) of Jacksonville, FL and James William Rei (Mary) of Columbia, MD; one sister, Mary Coston Bland of Tallahassee, FL; brother, Bobby Brantley of Savannah; five grandchildren, Lisa Lockwood, Geoffrey Rei, Rebecca Herren, Jodi Rei and Brian Rei; three great-grandchildren, Victoria Ruth Lockwood, Elizabeth Grace Lockwood and Dylan Matthew Herren. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 until 8 P.M. at Kennedy Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 A.M. in the Hooks Chapel of Kennedy Funeral Homes, Metter.
