What's Halloween without a haunted house (or more) to visit?

With Halloween just around the corner, it's time to start getting spooked. For thrills and chills, visit one of Maryland's creepiest haunted houses this weekend. With locations all over the state, there is sure to be a haunted spot near you.

Nightmares from Elmridge: Visit the sixth annual haunted attraction tomorrow, Oct. 27 and Oct. 30 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. or tonight, Oct. 28, 29 and 31 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 5400 East Drive in Arbutus; use side entrance on Maple Drive. The Cellar Shaft: Tomb of the Lost Souls: The haunted house takes place at Prince George's Stadium, home of the "Boo"-wie Baysox, 4101 N.E. Crain Highway. Open nightly through Halloween at 6 p.m. Admission is $12. It is advised that visitors be over age 13. For more information call 301-464-4880 or visit baysox.com.

Bennett's Curse: New this year to the haunted attraction is "Curse of the Killer Clowns in 3D." Open tomorrow and Oct. 27 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and tonight, Oct. 28 and through Halloween from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is $13 for two events; $15 for three. The haunted house is off Arundel Mills Boulevard next to the Jared Galleria of Jewelry and across from Wal-Mart. Visit bennettscurse.com.

Kim's Krypt: Visit Middle River for this creepy haunted house. Open tonight through Halloween from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Glen Mar VFW, 730 Wampler Road in Middle River. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children. Call 410-391-7726 or visit kimskrypt.com.

Cox's Point Haunted Mansion: This haunted adventure has been operating since 1968 and is open tonight and Oct. 28-29 from 7 p.m. to midnight and tomorrow and Oct. 30 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. Hager House Haunted Tours: Hear spooky stories about the history of the Jonathan Hager House Oct. 28-30. Tours will start at 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Hager House, 110 Key St., Hagerstown. Admission is $2 for ages 6 and up and free for those younger than 6. Reservations are required. To get more information or make reservations call 301-739-8393.

Mount Clare Candlelight Tour: The Mount Clare house in historic Carroll Park, 1500 Washington Blvd., will be hosting guided tours starting at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Oct. 28 and Oct. 29. Hear spooky Baltimore legends while walking by candlelight through one of Baltimore's oldest houses. $5 per person. Reservations are required. Call 410-837-3262.
