City Council

Penalties proposed for curfew violations

Parents who let their children stay out past curfew could be given $50 tickets under a proposal that also would impose a $500 fine on businesses that allow teenagers to stay out past curfew and direct children picked up under the ordinance to the Baltimore Truancy Assessment Center. A nighttime curfew prohibits most minors from being out past midnight on weekends or 11 p.m. on weeknights. A daytime curfew applies to school-age children.
