Council meetings -- Baltimore City Council will meet at 5 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall, fourth floor, 100 N. Holliday St. Baltimore County Council will meet 7 p.m. in council chambers, 400 Washington Ave., Towson.

TOMORROW

Violence awareness -- YWCA of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County will hold a Domestic Violence Awareness Night from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Anne Arundel Community College, 101 College Parkway, Arnold. A film, awards and reception will be featured. 410-626-7800, ext. 109.

WEDNESDAY

Halloween origami -- The Howard County Central Library will sponsor an origami workshop, "Horrorgami: Spooky Paper Folding," at 7 p.m. at the library, 10375 Little Patuxent Parkway, Columbia. Participants will make Halloween items. The event is for adults and children age 8 and older. Registration is required. 410-313-7860.

THURSDAY

Nature explorers -- Oregon Ridge Nature Center will hold an after-school nature explorer program for children in grades one to four from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the center, 13555 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville. The cost is $2 per child and reservations are required. 410-887-1815.

FRIDAY

Pumpkin walk -- Hammond-Harwood House will hold a Pumpkin Walk from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the historic district of Annapolis, starting at 19 Maryland Ave. Parents can dress their children in costume for the traditional Pumpkin Walk costume parade down Cumberland Court and Maryland Avenue. SATURDAY

BaltOween -- The Maryland School for the Blind will present BaltOween, its sixth annual outdoor festival, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on its campus at 3501 Taylor Ave. There will be children's activities, music, food, crafts and a hot-rod show. Admission is free. 410-319-5725 or baltoween.com.

Walters celebration -- The Walters Art Museum, 600 N. Charles St., will celebrate the 100th birthday of its Palazzo Building and the opening of the exhibit Palace of Wonders: The New Galleries of Renaissance and Baroque Art from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free. 410-547-9000 or thewalters. org.

SUNDAY

Oyster festival -- The second annual Pier 5 Oyster Festival will take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the waterfront side of McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant, 711 Eastern Ave. Proceeds will fund the restoration of the pier's Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse. 410-234-1300.

Teen expo -- The "Youth on the Rise" teen expo will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Oakland Mills community center, 5851 Robert Oliver Place, Columbia. The event will focus on options and opportunities available to teens after graduation from high school. 410-715-5523.
