Streif, Richard Reinl

Mr. RICHARD REINL STREIF, 75, died of lung Cancer September 7th, 2005 in Jacksonville, FL, where he resided the past 16 years. Mr. Streif was born, Jan. 14, 1930, in Buffalo, New York and was a long time resident of Annapolis Maryland. Upon graduating from Arundel High School he enlisted in the US Navy and served 10 years. He re-enlisted in the Air Force Air National Guard and retired from the US Air Force in 1989. After leaving the Navy, Mr. Streif, became a MD state employee. Later in his career he was appointed as an Aide to the Governor of Maryland as Director of Departmental Services for the State of Maryland and then retired from that position in 1987. His parents, Ernest F. and Viola Jenkins Streif, and brother, Ernest A. Streif preceded him in death. Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Rae Clark Streif of Jacksonville, FL; Children, Susan Kennedy, Richard R. Streif II, Roxanne Mangrum, Jeffrey Streif all of Jacksonville, FL; Sister, Betty Robbins Ellis of Pasadena, MD, and Brother, James F. Streif of Petaluma, CA; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Richard Reinl Streif will be held 5:00 P.M. Saturday, October 22, 2005 at Nichols Bethel United Methodist Church, Odenton, Maryland. Family and friends are invited.
