Askew promoted at The Arc

Susan M. Askew, an employee of The Arc of Howard County for more than 16 years, has been promoted to associate executive director of administration.

Askew, who lives in Allview Estates, will manage a new department that is to include information technology, accounting maintenance, human resources and administrative support for the agency's programs.

Started by a group of parents in 1961, The Arc of Howard County provides housing, job placement, vocational training and support services to people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Attorney Currie on nonprofit's board

Angela E. Currie, an attorney with the Columbia-based Business & Technology Law Group, has been elected to the board of directors of the Domestic Violence Center of Howard County. Currie is also a member of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce Employment Issues Committee.

The Domestic Violence Center, a private, nonprofit organization, educates Howard County residents about domestic violence and supports people affected by it.

Wilson gets post in risk management

Glenn L. Wilson, president and chief executive officer of Citizens National Bank, has been elected vice chairman of the Risk Management Association.

The association, founded in 1914 and based in Philadelphia, provides resources and programs to help lenders better gauge and manage risk in loan decisions.

Wilson is a former chairman of the association's Community Bank Council and a past president of its Chesapeake chapter. He served on the chapter's board for more than 15 years and as a member of the association's board for the past two years.

Wilson, a graduate of Towson University, joined Laurel-based Citizens National Bank in 1996 as senior lending and credit officer and was appointed chairman, president and chief executive officer last year.
