Office numbers to change this month

The Carroll County Bureau of Aging and the Westminster Senior Activities Center are joining the county's phone system this month.

The new main numbers will be: Bureau of Aging, 410-386- 3800; Westminster Senior Activities Center, 410-386-3850.

The previous phone numbers will still work for a while.

Rec council plans Oktoberfest lunch

The Seniors in Action Recreation Council will meet at noon Tuesday at Westminster Riding Club for lunch, a meeting and a program.

An Oktoberfest will be held, with pork and sauerkraut served for lunch.

Reservations ($8.75) should be made at 410-876-9896.

No reservations are needed for the meeting and program at 1 p.m. The public is welcome.

The riding club is at 366 N. Colonial Ave.

Program will clear snow, ice for seniors

The Carroll County Bureau of Aging is starting a program this winter called A Clear Path. The program will provide assistance with snow and ice removal for isolated adults 60 and older, and individuals with disabilities 50 and older.

People requesting the service must live in Carroll County and have medical needs that require them to have help shoveling.

People wishing to find out whether they qualify for the program or who know someone who would benefit from the service can call Brenda Shipley at 410-386-3802.
