Development awards given by HBAM

The Land Development Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland has announced the winners of its 12th Annual Community Development Awards of Excellence.

The awards, which recognize excellence in land development for design and quality, were presented Thursday at the Center Club.

Named project of the year was Hopewell Point in Baltimore County, developed by Hopewell Point LLC, with Daft-McCune-Walker Inc. as consultant/engineer.

Other awards of excellence winners were:

Honeygo Village Center in Baltimore County, developed by Chesapeake Realty & Development Inc. with Morris & Ritchie Associates Inc. as consultant/engineer.

Cresmont Loft Housing in Baltimore, developed by Cresmont Properties LLC, a joint venture of Orchard Development Corp. and Marenberg Enterprises Inc. Consultant/engineer on that project: Hord Coplan Macht Inc. (architect), Century Engineering (mechanical engineer), Morabito Consultants Inc. (structural engineer), STV Group Inc. (civil engineer), Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse Inc. (contractor.)

Awards were also announced in the following categories:

Consultant of the year: Ed Hord, Hord Coplan Macht Inc.

Contractor of the year: Chuck Crowther, Stewart & Tate Inc.

Developer of the year: Steve Smith, Gaylord Brooks Realty Co.

Lifetime Achievement Award: Stewart Greenebaum, Greenebaum and Rose Associates Inc.
