Party supply store sold

Party! Party! Party! of Dobbin Center has been sold to Millersville-based His-Hers Enterprises Inc., owner of 10 Hallmark Gold Crown stores, said Gary Rosenbaum, owner of the party store.

Rosenbaum, president of Party! Party! Party! Inc., opened the first Columbia party supply and Hallmark Gold Crown store in 1983 and was an original tenant of Dobbin Center. Since its opening, the store had grown to 13,000 square feet from 1,600 square feet.

Rosenbaum owns a store by the same name in St. Thomas Shopping Center in Owings Mills and a stationery store, Panache Papers, in The Mall in Columbia.

Food Lion celebrates remodeled store

The Food Lion store in the Oakland Mills Village Center held a ribbon-cutting Wednesday after its remodeling. It is among 63 stores in Maryland and Delaware that the chain has remodeled.

Work has focused on the store's produce, meats and deli-bakery departments.

The Oakland Mills Store opened in November.

Food Lion LLC operates more than 1,220 stores in 11 Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states.

Procurement fair to be held Oct. 25

The 14th annual Baltimore/Washington-area Government and Prime Contractor Procurement Fair, organized by the Baltimore/Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce, will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 25 at the Greenbelt Marriott, 6400 Ivy Lane in Greenbelt.

Seventy-five procurement and purchasing officials from all levels of government will be on hand, as will contractors seeking subcontractors.

The cost until Oct. 14 is $45 for members and $55 for nonmembers. After Oct. 14, the cost is $75 at the door.

Founded in 1947, the Baltimore/Washington Corridor Chamber of Commerce provides networking, information and growth resources to businesses, agencies, institutions and organizations in Howard, Anne Arundel, Montgomery and Prince George's counties.

The Baltimore-Washington chamber will hold free Membership 101 classes from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday and Oct. 27 at chamber offices, 312 Marshall Avenue, Suite 104, in Laurel. The session covers networking techniques, local resources, finding clients and choosing events to attend.

The chamber will hold a Power Networking Breakfast from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. Oct. 18 at Sam's Club Laurel, 3535 Russett Green East.

The cost is $20 in advance for members and $30 for nonmembers and those paying at the door.
