Harford County Snapshots

October 05, 2005

Joe Ashley, North Carroll

STATS -- Ashley scored three touchdowns in one of the Hawks' wins and has been the team's leading tackler through its first three games. North Harford rotates different running backs in its option attack, and Ashley helps by both blocking and running. He often plays long stretches on both sides and has been a big reason the Hawks started 3-1.

SIDELINES -- Ashley made big plays on both sides of the ball in North Harford's 22-7 victory over Joppatowne last Friday - including a fumble recovery.

Allison Carey, John Carroll

STATS -- Carey scored both goals in John Carroll's 2-1 win over Notre Dame Prep last Wednesday. She was the team's leading scorer with five goals and six assists through the first 10 games. The sophomore, who saw significant playing time as a freshman, sparks the Patriots with her speed and leaping ability.

SIDELINES -- Carey scored the first goal in last year's victory over Institute of Notre Dame in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference championship game. She also is a strong lacrosse player.
