DAVID L. SPILMAN, 62, of Naples (FL) died Thursday evening, September 22, 2005 after a brave battle with cancer. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, he had been a Naples, Florida resident for the last two years. Mr. Spilman was an alumnus of the University of Baltimore, past president of the Maryland Association of CPA's, a member of the National Investor Relations Institute and Financial Executives International. He was a career banker and held various positions in the Baltimore area. He was Vice President and Controller of Equitable Bancorporation; Vice President, Treasurer, and Director of Investor Relations of MNC Financial, Inc.; Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Director of Investor Relations with Baltimore Bancorp; Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Director of Investor Relations with Farmers & Mechanics Bank in Frederick. More recently, Dave was the CFO of Bigham Jewelers in Naples, Florida. Dave will always be remembered for his gentle nature and keen sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Marci, his daughter Sherri (Christopher) Nettles of Bel Air, MD; brothers, Allen, Dennis, and Paul (Joanne) Spilman; grandson William Nettles, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Steven in 1987. A memorial service to celebrate Dave's life will take place on Oct. 8th at 11:00 AM at the Churchville Presbyterian Church.
