Sally S. Diggs, 75, board president

Sally S. Diggs, a homemaker and former president of a Towson retirement home's board of directors, died of stroke complications Monday at Roland Park Place, where she had lived for three years. She was 75 and had previously resided in Roland Park.

Born Sally Strobel in Baltimore and raised in Roland Park, she attended Bryn Mawr School and graduated from St. Mary's Boarding School in Peekskill, N.Y.

Mrs. Diggs was a past president of the board of directors of Pickersgill Retirement Community in Towson, where she was a 25-year member.

She also belonged to the Junior League, the Woman's Club of Roland Park and the Woodland Garden Club.

She enjoyed swimming in Ocean City, where she spent summers. She also entertained.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. David's Episcopal Church, 4700 Roland Ave.

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Marshall Diggs Graeber of Ruxton; and two grandchildren. Her husband of 37 years, James Burgess Diggs, a Westinghouse engineer, died in 1987.
