DON'T MISS

Leon Redbone

September 29, 2005|By NICK BROWN

You've seen the satirical portrayal of the club musician looking slick in his white fedora, white jacket and dark sunglasses. Now see the trendsetter himself, the original white-jacket-donning performer, Leon Redbone, as he and his band perform Saturday night at the Gordon Center in Owings Mills. A diverse artist, Redbone has been making music professionally for decades -- and even branched out to the big screen, appearing in the 2003 Will Ferrell comedy Elf. He played an animated snowman, and his song, "Baby, It's Cold Outside," was the theme to the movie.

Leon Redbone will be performing Saturday night at 8. Tickets are $17. Call the Gordon Center, 3506 Gwynnbrook Ave., Owings Mills, at 410-356-SHOW.
